For a WoW Forever quest addon with a configurable tracker and directional guidance, ForeverQuest is a concrete option. Its author lists WoW Forever 1.60.1 and interface 16001, and describes map markers, nearby quest discovery, destination priorities and personal location corrections. Those features do not make every coordinate reliable: it combines client information with legacy Classic records and your own data.
Start with one tracker, choose whether accepted quests or nearby pickups take priority, and inspect the location-source label before following a marker. Guidance points toward a destination; it does not calculate a walkable route around terrain.
Decide what your quest helper should add
Forever's Enhanced preset already marks objectives for accepted quests on the map and minimap. A helper can add a different tracker, information about available pickups or control over which destination to follow next. You do not need to replace every quest interface element to gain one of those features.
Keep these jobs separate:
| Need | Useful feature | Limit to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Read active quests more clearly | Movable or compact tracker | More visible quests can still create clutter |
| Choose a next objective | Destination priorities | The nearest point may not be the best travel route |
| Find another pickup | Nearby quest list | You must still visit and interact with the giver |
| Repair a bad map point | Personal correction | Your correction is character data, not a global database fix |
| Distinguish new quest writing | Quest-text tint | Classification can be incomplete |
A quest helper is also different from a fixed leveling guide. It can help with the quests you choose without proving that its chosen next destination is part of a fastest leveling route.
Open ForeverQuest and establish a clean tracker
The documented installation places ForeverQuest.toc inside Interface/AddOns/ForeverQuest in the selected Forever client. After enabling the addon for your character, type /fq to open its settings.
The tracker can replace Blizzard's tracker with a movable window. Its advertised controls include quest titles, progress summaries and usable quest-item buttons. Left-click guidance and right-click full quest details provide different levels of information.
Try compact mode with /fq compact when the tracker becomes too tall. You can expand an individual quest to inspect objectives while leaving other entries collapsed. Quest-item buttons remain available in compact mode, so compactness does not require hiding the item needed for the current task.

Tracker settings control visibility and presentation; this image is not the quest tracker itself.
Before changing automation, check that the tracker displays an accepted quest you recognize. Compare its title and progress with the game's quest log. This gives you a clear reference when deciding whether later problems concern the tracker, a location or the underlying quest data.
Select a destination priority
ForeverQuest offers automatic selection among eligible destinations on your current map. Choose a priority that matches the way you want to quest:
- Nearest destination selects a nearby eligible location.
- Finish accepted quests first prefers objectives and turn-ins already in your log.
- Prioritize turn-ins favors completed turn-ins, then accepted objectives, then pickups.
The matching commands are /fq priority nearest, /fq priority accepted and /fq priority turnins. Available pickups participate only when pickup guidance is enabled.
For a log full of unfinished quests, accepted-first is a useful starting choice: the selected task stays connected to work you already took. If you want to hand in completed quests before collecting more, use turn-in priority. Nearest is a distance-based choice, not a promise of the quickest total journey.
Enable or disable automatic nearest-destination selection with /fq nearest. Use /fq guide to toggle dotted minimap guidance separately. Separating those controls helps you keep the tracker without showing a direction line all the time.
Pin a useful objective and skip a bad destination
The destination panel can show the quest, location source, guidance mode, distance when available and current status. Read that status before assuming the line has stopped working. The location may be in another zone, lack coordinates or be paused during combat.
Use Pin when you want to keep the current destination while automatic tracking remains enabled. Use Skip to exclude an individual destination without discarding the entire quest. /fq pin and /fq skip provide the corresponding shortcuts.
Temporary pins and skips reset on reload or logout. /fq resetskips clears skipped destinations sooner. A skipped location returning after a reload is therefore different from a saved correction failing to persist.
For quests with several objectives, open the remaining-objective chooser with /fq objectives. You can also use /fq objectives QUEST_ID with the quest's numeric ID. Select a specific objective when a location is confidently matched; the addon deliberately leaves ambiguous matches unresolved instead of selecting an invented point.
That behavior is useful when a quest asks for several targets in different areas. A general quest marker and the objective you need next are not always the same destination. Check the objective chooser before repeatedly skipping the whole quest.
Read location sources before trusting coordinates
The author's description separates three broad inputs: live client information, a bundled database of 3,772 legacy Classic quest records and personal notes or corrections. The legacy record count is not a count of verified Forever locations.
A familiar quest name can retain old coordinates even when Forever changes its location. Treat a label identifying legacy data as a reason to check the quest text, nearby map and actual objective. A dotted line can remain visually convincing while pointing toward an outdated location.
The same distinction matters when a location is missing entirely. No usable coordinate is different from an addon that did not load. If the tracker, menus and other quests work, investigate the affected quest and its data before reinstalling the whole interface.
Questie is another established quest-helper option, but its Forever database also continues to develop. Do not assume changing helpers automatically supplies a missing new quest. Keep one primary tracker during diagnosis so you can tell which addon supplied a marker.
Save a personal correction
When you have identified the right spot in game, ForeverQuest lets you correct the selected location from its destination controls:
- Select the affected destination and inspect its location-source label.
- Open the location actions with
/fq location. - Use Save corrected location here only when your current position represents the intended location.
- Use This location is wrong to exclude an incorrect point when you do not yet have a replacement.
- Use Restore original location if you want to remove your override.
- Review saved corrections with
/fq corrections.
Corrections are saved per character and can survive addon updates when the relevant SavedVariables are retained. They are separate from the temporary Skip control. Repeatedly skipping a bad destination is not the same as recording that the location is wrong.
Keep that distinction in mind when copying settings or reinstalling. A layout profile is not a substitute for all personal quest data, and removing saved data can remove the correction that made an objective useful to you.
Find nearby pickups without following every marker
Open /fq nearby or right-click the minimap button to see available pickups on the current map. The list can include coordinates, distance when available and location-source labels. Selecting a pickup can pin it and enable guidance.
Read the source and quest information before making a detour. You still need to reach the giver and interact to accept the quest. An available marker does not waive prerequisites or automatically add the quest to your log.
If you are exploring new quest writing, Forever Quest Tint solves a separate visual task. It can tint non-vanilla quest parchment teal and add a marker to the log or tracker. Its classification is based on a list of original Classic quest IDs, so a genuine old quest missing from that list may be classified incorrectly. It does not fix objective coordinates.
Keep automation and reward selection deliberate
ForeverQuest advertises optional acceptance, turn-in and supported reward-selection settings. Configure those separately from navigation. Leave them off when you want to read dialogue or inspect rewards yourself.
Its reward preview compares offered rewards, rather than comparing each offer against your equipped gear. Uncertain comparisons, unsupported rewards and meaningful tradeoffs remain manual. Do not mistake a recommendation for a full evaluation of your character's equipment.
Use /fq rewardpreview to toggle the preview. Named profiles can store supported display preferences, window positions, compact mode and automation options. Personal notes and corrections remain separate from those snapshots.
Report the quest that actually fails
When a destination is missing or wrong, record the quest name, zone, selected objective and location-source label. Include /fq debug output and describe what happened. “The arrow is wrong” is less actionable than identifying whether it selected a turn-in, a pickup or one objective of a multi-objective quest.
Check the current Forever release before reporting. Then reproduce the problem with one primary tracker and preserve any saved corrections you rely on. The useful result is a tracker that directs you toward the intended objective while making missing or uncertain data visible.
